Several Tulsa doctors and a local church gave the gift of hope to a couple of children from Bosnia. The two children were born with serious heart conditions. One couldn’t produce enough blood to his lungs; the other had a hole in his heart.
Doctors performed the surgeries at Saint Francis Hospital five weeks ago. Now, they are doing well and ready to go home. Tulsa's Christ United Methodist church helped sponsor the kids and their families with the help of a national organization called "Samaritan's Purse".
The mother's of the little ones say they are so grateful to everyone for their help. Azra Kupusovic, Bosnian Mother: "Since the moment my baby was born and I found out he had heart problems. I was praying for him." Teiba Avdic, Bosnia Mother; "it was special moments for her sharing time with people from the church." Dr Richard Ranne with St Francis: "In Sarejavo in 1984 they could have done all of these operations and they had the people to do it, and today they are incapable of doing these basic services."
An organization called "Samaritan's Purse" is trying to offer those services to as many Bosnians as they can. You can contact them for information at 1-828-262-1980.
