Construction resumed Monday on the Medical Office Plaza that caught fire at St John's Medical Center last week. The fire, ruled accidental, damaged the top floor of the building last Wednesday.
The building was under construction. Investigators say it could take weeks to know the total extent of the damage because they are still working to clear debris from the area. But all in all, everyone agrees the situation was handled flawlessly. Tulsa Fire Department Captain Hubert Rouse, "These fires can be the most challenging because height and the difficulty they present to firefighters." Lee Gould with St John Medical Center, "Thanks to Tulsa Fire Department there were no injuries and patient care was never interrupted." Dewey Davis with Manhattan Construction, "As a company we learn from these mistakes don't make them again and take steps to prevent this from happening again."
Officials at St John's say insurance will cover the cost of all the damage done by the fire.
