McALESTER, Okla. (AP) _ An Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper was injured in a car collision while he responded to the scene of another crash.
Veteran Trooper Tony Crabtree was treated and released from McAlester Regional Health Center for arm and internal injuries Friday night.
Crabtree was in his patrol car with the emergency lights and siren engaged when another car hit his car about 10:30 p.m. in McAlester.
Phillip Russell, 42, failed to yield at a stop sign and pulled his vehicle into Crabtree's path.
Russell was transported by helicopter to St. Francis Hospital with neck injuries.
