(Norman-AP) -- Some Sooner football fans are going for a new kind of record.

University of Oklahoma fans are trying to get into the Guinness Book of World Records for building the world's largest pinata.

The pinata is part of the second annual Hispanic College Fund Football Classic.

Fans are building a pinata shaped like a football that is 45 feet long and 23 feet wide.

The pinata will be filled with 300 pounds of candy and used as a centerpiece for Saturday's pre-game events. OU plays North Carolina on Saturday.
