TULSA, Okla. (AP) _ The U.S. Open boosted city sales tax revenues 9.3 percent for June, but that's not as much as officials had predicted.

Sales tax collections for the month sent $17.2 million into city coffers, compared to the $15.74 million collected during the same month in 2000.

But the $1,466,000 increase over the previous year falls short of the $3.8 million the Chamber of Commerce predicted the U.S. Open would generate.

City Finance Director Mike Kier said it's too early to determine the exact impact of the U.S. Open on sales tax revenues. More data won't be available until later this month, he said.
