(Tulsa-AP) -- Tulsa has named Jason Coffman as the school's women's rowing coach.

Coffman has been the novice women's rowing coach at North Carolina for the past two years. Last year, his team compiled an 8-and-2 record and won the N-C-A-A Southern Region Championship.

Coffman was previously the novice women's rowing coach at the University of Tennessee. He spent six years at the Mount Baker Rowing and Sailing Center as coach of a highly successful junior program.

Coffman coached five national champions at Mount Baker. He was chosen as the Northwest region Coach of the Year in 1998. He also served as the Novice Rowing Coach at Seattle University for three seasons.
