Oklahoma may be getting a little break now from the heat, but if you have "inadequate air conditioning", the mid-90s can still be pretty miserable, especially for the elderly.
That's why Tulsa County Sheriff Stanley Glanz and his staff are collecting box fans for seniors. It's part of a program called "Seniors and Law Enforcement Together." Sgt. Sherri Carrier, "If anyone is interested - if you have a box fan at home that you want to get rid of, as long as it's properly maintained and doesn't have any mechanical problems, we'll be glad to take it off your hands."
