An early morning police shooting sends one person to the hospital.

Tulsa Police officers were called to the Polo Club apartments near 41st and 129th East Avenue around three o'clock Monday morning on a domestic dispute.

When they arrived, police say they found Tarai Butler standing on his wife's doorstep, pounding on the door while holding a knife. When an officer approached Butler, the situation turned violent. Tulsa Police officer Lucky Lamons: "At one time, Mr. Butler reached down with the knife, then came up in an aggressive manner toward the officer, the officer shot one time striking Mr. Butler in the upper shoulder, in the arm area."

He then ran off, but police found him at another apartment complex hiding between cars. He was taken to a Tulsa hospital and underwent surgery. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
