(Tucson, Arizona-AP) -- Former Oklahoma State baseball coach Gary Ward will not be the new coach at Arizona.

Arizona has hired former Florida coach Andy Lopez.

Ward was among the finalists for the job after coaching the past season at New Mexico State.

Ward coached at Oklahoma State from 1978 through 1996 and led the Cowboys to three national runner-up finishes.
