(Arlington, Texas-AP) -- The Texas Rangers have demoted right-hander Ryan Glynn to the Oklahoma RedHawks and have purchased the contract of veteran right-hander Kevin Foster.
Glynn is 1-and-5 with a 7-point-oh-4 E-R-A in 12 games for Texas this season. The 31-year-old Foster is 3-and-1 with a 2-point-8-oh E-R-A in 16 games with the RedHawks.
Foster pitched in 91 games for Philadelphia and the Chicago Cubs from 1993-to-98 before missing most of the '98 season because of shoulder problems.
Foster was out of baseball in 1999 and spent last season in Boston's minor league system before signing a free-agent contract with Texas last December.
His last major league appearance was June 18th, 1998, against Milwaukee, and his last big league victory came on July 2nd, 1997, over Kansas City.
