(Wichita, Kansas-AP) -- Kelly Shoppach of Baylor has been named the winner of the Johnny Bench Award.

The award is named for the Oklahoma Hall of Famer and goes to the nation's top collegiate catcher.

Bench presented the award to Shoppach at a banquet Tuesday night in Wichita, Kansas.

Shoppach batted .397 for Baylor this season and had only one error in 406 chances. He was the top pick of the Boston Red Sox in last month's major league draft.
