(Updated-AP) -- Several Oklahomans went in yesterday's Major League Baseball draft for first year players.

Centerfielder Michael Wilson of Tulsa Washington was the first Oklahoman taken. Wilson went to Seattle as the 67th pick overall. He's signed to play linebacker at Oklahoma this fall.

Steven Shell of El Reno High School went to Anaheim as the 81st overall pick. Moore High School's Michael Hinckley went to Montreal with the 82nd pick.

Right-hander Kole Strayhorn out of Shawnee High School went to Los Angeles with the 130th pick.

Luke Scott was the first Oklahoma State player taken. Scott went to Cleveland as the 277th pick.

Oklahoma Right-hander Rocky Cherry was the first Sooner taken. Cherry went to Philadelphia as the 290th pick
