Tulsa's religious community is mourning the deaths of three missionaries to Yemen.
Members of the Southern Baptist faith say they will continue their missionary work in the face of the tragedy. A local pastor and former missionary we spoke with says those killed in this attack were serving a special calling.
He says despite the violence, it's a calling that others will continue to hear. Pastor Lonnie Latham with the South Tulsa Baptist Church, “Yes there will be people that will be cautious, but no, we'll not give up the work. This is what God called us to do, and we're glad to do it, even at the risk of our lives."
The three missionaries killed were from the International Mission Board. It's part of the Southern Baptist convention, which currently has more than 5,000 missionaries at work worldwide.
