A teenage driver ended up with his car on a fence, after a midday Tulsa traffic accident - that damaged a house and rattled some nerves.

News on Six reporter Emory Bryan says Donna McKaughan says she and her husband wanted a new gate for their fence. But they didn't think a teenager would help them demolish the old one. About noon - a car came flying over the curb and hit her fence. She was inside and didn't even hear it. “There's enough bad things that happen without worrying about things like that.”

Three teenagers were in the car. One of the teens, a passenger in the car, Ryan Woods, “We were passing a car, went out of control, flew over the curb and hit some brick thing.” Despite the damage to the fence and the car - they weren't hurt. Another teen from the car, "There was a 4-Runner and accord in front of me and I didn't have enough room to get over so my back tires started getting goosy I slammed on the brakes spun it around.”

Tulsa Police say the driver was going too fast, made a lane change then lost control. “And we just started spinning and caught air off the curb and hit the brick wall." The car plowed through the bricks - and tossed some up and onto and through the roof of the house. They didn't go through the ceiling.

Police charged the driver with speeding. They say he was going 50 in a 40 - fast enough to total his car - and the gate the McKaughan's wanted to replace.
