Schools are feeling the pinch of a lack of funding, but that has some people taking action.
Parents and other residents in Bixby and Broken Arrow are organizing drives for paper and other supplies. Bixby needs glue, basketballs and other supplies. In Broken Arrow, the district goes through about $90,000 worth of copy paper a year.
And a special telethon gets underway Monday to raise money for schools in Wagoner and Muskogee counties. Penny Kampf is hoping to raise $2-million with the telethon which will air on a Muskogee cable channel.
Kampf already hosts a local Muskogee cable show five days a week.
