A stolen car chase ends with a man being shot twice by police. It ended at 31st Street and Lynn Lane in Tulsa when the driver lost control and hit a utility pole.

But the chase actually began in Broken Arrow when officers say they tried to stop the car for a traffic violation. The driver sped off when he saw the lights flashing. After he crashed the car, he took off on foot and tried to break into a house, and that's when the situation escalated.

Broken Arrow Police Sgt John Zoller, "The suspect told officers he had a gun, made a move towards his waistband, and one of our officers shot the suspect at that time twice.”

The suspect, 36-year old Scott Dickens, was taken to a local hospital with wounds that are reportedly not life threatening. No one else was hurt.

Because the shooting happened in Tulsa, Tulsa Police will investigate.
