(Oklahoma City-AP) -- State regents for higher education Thursday approved more budget cuts because of a statewide revenue shortfall.
Thursday's cut of $8-million means nearly $50-million have been cut from higher education's original appropriation.
Chancellor Hans Brisch says cuts are being made across the board, although student aid and loan programs are being spared.
Brisch says there may be fewer courses offered during the spring semester and that hiring freezes mean there will be no replacements for retiring and resigning faculty.
