It appears auto theft is on the rise here in Tulsa. Nearly 4,000 people have their vehicles stolen in Tulsa each year.

Among them is Chris Brown. His car was stolen from in front of his house Wednesday. Brown jumped on the hood as the thief drove away. "I grabbed on and was yelling at him. I was hitting the windshield and saw how fast the ground was moving, so, I jumped off and I landed just fine." Brown's car was found a few hours later but the thieves had stripped every of value from it.

Police say the most popular vehicles stolen in Tulsa are Chevy Trucks, Ford Trucks and Olds Cutlasses. Tulsa Police's auto theft unit recovers more than 70% of all stolen vehicles.
