(Oklahoma City-AP) -- Oklahoma has a sound education system, but changes could be in store under a new chancellor of higher education.

Paul Risser, the new chancellor, says he reserves the right to tweak Oklahoma's education system.

Risser says programs that are ineffective _ not drawing students to enroll in them _ might need to be eliminated, especially in times of scarce budget dollars.

The new chancellor says he wants to make sure that the various schools do not try to be all things to all students.

Instead each university should have a specific mission.
