(Oklahoma City-AP) -- A financial statement recently filed by Sallisaw's Blue Ribbon Downs shows the track's lost $1.75 million over the past two years.
The audited financial statement was filed with the Oklahoma Horse Racing Commission. It shows Blue Ribbon Downs lost $750,000 last year and $1 million the year before that.
Track operator Race Horses Incorporated says its financial struggle is mainly a result of competition from Indian gaming facilities.
Race Horses also blames the collapse of the Interstate 40 bridge west of Sallisaw in May.
The horse racing commission is expected to meet Friday to discuss the statement and the allocation of racing days at the track.
