(Oklahoma City-AP) -- Oklahoma has an official state beverage as of Friday.

A law designating milk as the state beverage went into effect Friday with dairy farmers and school children raising a toast to milk at the state Capitol.

State Senator Paul Muegge of Tonkawa sponsored the measure by including it in a bill renaming the state Department of Agriculture as the Department of Food, Forestry and Agriculture.
