A Tulsa school shooting that injured a student. Tulsa Police say a school security guard took a shot at an intruder at the Tulsa School of Science and Technology on North Peoria.
The bullet ended up hitting an innocent student. A 15-year-old boy was coming out of a store across the street from Tulsa Science High when a bullet ricocheted from the asphalt, hit the cell phone he had in his pocket, and ricocheted again, grazing him in the cheek.
Tulsa Police have questioned the school guard that fired his weapon. The guard had a run in with a former student who'd been expelled last week. The same guard escorted 18-year-old Jermaine Cox off the property last week, and told him to never return. Cox had been expelled for improperly touching a student. Tulsa Police Major Mark McCrory "The security guard got into a confrontation with a, a verbal confrontation with a young male who had previously been the subject of threat reports made by the security guard."
Students who witnessed what was going on say they saw Cox walking away when the guard drew his weapon.
Detectives say when they questioned the guard; he said Cox was carrying a gun. Investigators didn't find a weapon at the scene.
The district attorney will determine whether to file charges.
