(Tulsa-AP) -- Police agencies in northeast Oklahoma are seeking federal grants to fight illegal immigration.

Congressman John Sullivan says the grants will buy video conferencing equipment for county jails and reimburse the jails for holding illegal immigrants.

Sullivan met again Monday with Immigration and Naturalization Service officials in his Tulsa office.

The congressman has been seeking a larger INS presence since 23 illegal immigrants were released this summer because of a shortage of agents.

Sullivan also says four new INS agents for Oklahoma are in training and should be on duty soon.
