ANTLERS, Okla. (AP) _ Several juveniles threw a homemade bomb at the police station, causing powder burns to the front door and police cars parked nearby, officers said.
``They wanted to scare the police department,'' said Police Chief Dwayne Morgan.
Morgan said a dispatcher heard something hit the front door just before 10 p.m. Tuesday. Morgan said the object immediately ignited and left a black spot on the building, but no one was injured.
Morgan said the bomb was apparently made from broken firecrackers that were taped inside some sort of plastic container. He said an informant told investigators that four juveniles were possibly involved.
The police chief said a 16-year-old has taken responsibility for the explosion.
The case is being investigated by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol's bomb squad and the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms. Information will then be turned over to the Pushmataha County district attorney for possible state charges.
