What caused a house to explode in a north Tulsa neighborhood Wednesday morning?

It happened in the 5500 block of North Johnstown. Fire officials tell us preliminary reports indicate the house explosion may have been caused by natural gas.

The house was vacant at the time. Neighbors tell us the occupants moved out several weeks ago. Fire officials arrived to find the back of the house in flames, the front of the house, the roof and the walls completely caved in. And debris and glass scattered throughout the street.

The force was apparently so powerful; neighbors who lived clear down the street could feel it. "I was eating breakfast all of a sudden and I heard a boom and I ran out. Well I didn't ran I walked but I came and seen what happened." "I thought it was a tree on top my house because my mirror fell."

We're told the neighboring houses didn't sustain any damage, nor was anyone hurt. Fire officials are still trying to determine the cause.
