The first day of class for Tulsa Public Schools brought about the first round of official complaints from parents on the district's new busing system.

Many parents are concerned that the new central bus stop has left gaping holes in safety issues regarding their children's walk to school. One of those parents took her issue up with the school board Monday night.

Sheila Frye says a narrow bridge students need to travel across is lined by traffic on one side and a 30-foot drop off on the other. “It’s very unsafe. And we need to see if we could work something out to get our kids to school safely. I realize you don't have the funding that you need, but maybe the parents can get together, or we can get together and work out something.”
