(Oklahoma City-AP) -- Edmond and Norman schools lead the state in average ACT scores this year.

More than 1,000 Edmond students took the college entrance exam and scored an average of 23.9, the best in the state.

Nearly 620 Norman students took the ACT, scoring an average of 23.

Next are the Kremlin School District in Garfield County and the Jenks district in Tulsa County, each with an average score of 22.9.

The lowest scores are reported by the Boynton and the Boley districts.

In Boynton, eight students took the test with an average score of 13.4 while two Boley students took the test for an average score of 14.
