A six-year-old Tulsa girl is lucky to be alive after a car hit her Monday morning.

Officers say the child was riding her bike north on Denver when she failed to stop at a stop sign, and rode into traffic. She was hit by a car traveling east on Pine. Officers say the driver of the car was not at fault, and didn't have time to stop. The child walked away with a few bruises on her face, but nothing serious.

Tulsa Police say this is a good opportunity to remind all children to follow the rules of the road, signal before turning, and remember to always wear a helmet.
