A close call for a Rogers County family when fire sweeps through their home.

Firefighters in Verdigris were called to a home around one-thirty Friday morning. Flames shot through the roof as they arrived. Additional crews had to be called in from Claremore, Catoosa and Rolling Hills. Authorities say the family had to go some distance to call for help, which caused a delay in fighting the fire.

No one was hurt. Damage is estimated at $100,000. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
