(Tulsa-AP) -- The Tulsa Golden Hurricane will begin full squad two-a-days Saturday as they try to erase the memories of last season's 1-and-10 record.

Coach Keith Burns will put the players through their paces and also meet the press at media day. The coach is hopeful 66 returners and 21 newcomers can turn his team around.

Burns says strong weight room work over the summer has helped a number of his players.

The Golden Hurricane open the season August 30th with a home date against Oklahoma.

...Meanwhile, Tulsa's basketball team will be in the field for Bracket Buster Saturday.

The February 22nd event will feature nine games between non-conference opponents looking to bolster their chances of an NCAA bid.

Tulsa will travel to take on perennial NCAA Cinderella team Gonzaga.

Half of the 18 teams in the event played in last season's NCAA tournament.
