A fire broke out in a Bixby school Friday afternoon. The assistant superintendent tells us the fire started in the media center at C-E Gray Elementary about 4:30 PM.

Firefighters were able to keep the fire contained to the southwest corner of the building. There wasn't much damage, just a lot of smoke in the building. School starts in Bixby in about two weeks.

There were no injuries, but EMSA was called to the scene to treat firefighters for any heat related illnesses. The cause is unknown at this time.
