Officials broke ground Wednesday morning on a new Albertson's that hopes to bring growth to North Tulsa.
The new store, scheduled to be completed in Spring 2003, is expected to employ about 100 people.
Albertson's says it's proud to be anchoring the redevelopment at Pine and Peoria. Albertson’s area vice president Bart Bohlen, "The store will be 57,000 square feet and adjacent to it will be a 25,000 square foot convenience store with fuel center. Inside the store will have the usual grocery store centers, including photo development and film rentals."
The progress in north Tulsa also includes a Conoco station and more than 200 new homes under construction. But residents say they'd also like to see a movie theatre and a bowling alley.
