(Cheyenne, Wyoming-AP) -- An Oklahoman placed second in steer-roping at the Cheyenne Frontier Days rodeo in Wyoming.
Gene Taulman of Meramec finished just a tenth of a second behind the winner Tom Hirsig. Taulman finished third in the final round of the steer roping competition, roping a steer in just 21.8 seconds.
Forty-year-old Hirsig, one the rodeo's top organizers, finished first roping a steer in 19.1 seconds. The top time earned him more than nine thousand dollars in prize money.
