(Cheyenne, Wyoming-AP) -- Oklahoma-native Blair Burk is on a hot streak.

Burk, riding his backup horse, seized the lead Wednesday at the Cheyenne Frontier Days rodeo in Wyoming.

The cowboy from Durant has held the Number One world ranking in calf roping since mid-February. Burk's won more than $100,000 this year.

He turned in a time of 13.1 seconds, seventh-best in the second round. His cumulative time is 26.1, good for a 1.7-second lead over Guy Miller, of O'Donnell, Texas.

Ty Massey of Lookeba remains the leader in the second round, which ends Saturday. The third and final round is Sunday.
