The city of Bartlesville will build a new water treatment plant. The problem is, where to build it.
Like many towns across the country, Bartlesville has to build a new plant because of new federal water guidelines. A committee looking into possible locations recommended the city build on 40 acres off of airport road in Osage County. But the owner doesn't want to sell.
People who live near the possible site, don't want a plant near their homes. Julia Crouch, Airport Road resident, "Like any other residential area, we have a desire to keep our neighborhood non-industrialized and have the beautiful scenery we have right now."
The city council delayed action during its meeting Monday night. A new list of possible sites could be ready early next month.
