WASHINGTON (AP) _ About 27,000 children's folding chairs are being recalled because they can crush, cut or sever fingers when they collapse.
Hilton Hotels Corp., the Beverly Hills, Calif., company that distributed the chairs, said Thursday that part of a 2-year-old boy's finger was cut off when his Vacation Station chair collapsed. It announced the recall in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
The chairs, which have a built-in cooler, were given as gifts to guests at Hilton, Doubletree and Hilton Garden Inn hotels nationwide in May and June. They are purple and green or green and blue, and have ``Vacation Station'' printed on the cooler.
