A Tulsa ministry is making sure local children are keeping up with their schoolwork this summer.
About 97 students are enrolled in Educational Enrichment programs at John 3:16 Mission. In the morning they study math and reading and in the afternoon an area church leads a vacation Bible school.
This week, youth from Tulsa's Christian Chapel are working with the children on memory verses and arts and crafts. John 3:16 says it's vitally important to make sure children don't stop learning during the summer.
Steve Whitaker, John 3:16 Family-Youth Ministries Director: "We try to keep them up to speed, they don't want to get behind in the summer, it is remedial for those kids that are behind." Getting the supplies students need for school is also important.
John 3:16 is a partner in the News on Six's Project Spirit Supplies campaign. You can drop off supplies at John 3:16, Restore Hope Ministries, two Royal Cleaners locations, or at any of the three Tulsa Teachers Credit Union offices.
