(Tulsa-AP) -- U-S Attorney General John Ashcroft said today that federal, state and local law enforcement are cooperating in northern Oklahoma.
Ashcroft was in Tulsa Tuesday to meet with the Northern District of Oklahoma's Anti-Terrorism Task Force.
The attorney general has a goal to meet with anti-terrorism officials from all 94 federal districts.
The task forces were created just after the September 11th attacks to help agencies coordinate efforts to fight terrorism.
Ashcroft also announced that Oklahoma will receive about $2-million in federal grants for a prison program. The program is designed to prevent violent offenders from repeating their crimes after their release.
