(Kingston, Jamaica-AP) -- A Tulsa native descended into the record books Friday.

Jamaican-born David Lee set a world record in free diving by swimming to a depth of 167 feet without using fins or taking a breath of air.

A judge observing the dive from the surface confirmed it was a record. Lee had to make the dive without the aide of a line to pull on.

The dive lasted two-minutes-and-14 seconds.

Lee says he felt comfortable on the dive and that things went according to plan.
