Summer weather is here and that can be a dangerous time for children, adults and the elderly.
The Oklahoma Department of Health says July is the most dangerous month for heat-related deaths in Oklahoma. Senior citizens are most at risk.
According to Medical Examiner records, between 1990 and 2001, 151 Oklahomans died due to heat-related circumstances, with more than half of those deaths occurring during July.
Health officials say if you are spending time outdoors, be sure to take plenty of breaks and drink a lot of water.
