Since the I-40 bridge collapse, motorists have had to travel detours through small towns like Gore.
About 30,000 vehicles a day travel roads not built to handle that kind of traffic, and it's taking a toll. To help, Oklahoma transportation crews recently built a bypass through Gore, it cost about $250,000.
City officials say they will continue to man detours around the clock until bridge construction is complete.
