Friday was Independence Day, not for USA, but Venezuela. And on this birthday, Tulsa organizations and companies gathered at the Plaza of Americas Friday morning to pay tribute.
Following a rendition of Venezuela's national anthem, wreaths were placed at the base of the bust of Simon Bolivar, that country's liberator.
Tulsa has a large interest in Venezuela, which is where the petroleum corporation Citgo is based.
