The excise board has asked the county assessor for a review of any inspection expense over 50-thousand dollars. The board also wants a list of employees paid from the visual inspection budget.
The requests come after Tulsa's schools superintendent asked for relief from the roughly 800-thousand dollars that the district pays for property revaluations.
Excise Board Chairman Byron Burke says Tulsa County's assessments seem excessive when they're compared to Oklahoma County's. Burke says Tulsa County charged more money to inspect less land than Oklahoma County's assessor.
