There's new information in the case of a fatal fire in Bixby. It's a follow-up to a story the News on Six was first to report to you Sunday.

The fire broke out at a strip mall at 8126 E 126th Street South on June 16th, killing the owner, Richard Welcher. Welcher also lived in an apartment at the strip mall.

Wednesday, Bixby Police reported that the Oklahoma Fire Marshal found evidence of possible arson. They also said Welcher was holding a gun when he died, and his finger was still on the trigger. There were live rounds and shells in that gun.

Bixby Police are now treating the death as a homicide and are looking for and questioning people to find out what led to Welcher's death.
