A national leader is offering his support for a Tulsa congressman, and for President Bush's new homeland security plan.
Speaker of the House J. Dennis Hastert appeared at the campaign headquarters of 1st District Congressman John Sullivan Saturday morning, where he gave his take on the President's plan to reorganize the government. "Our challenge in Congress now is to put this thing together and make it work. So I think the President has made a great move. It's the right thing to do - we're going to be very supportive and we're going to make it work this year.â€
President Bush outlined his proposal earlier this week. And so far, the plan has received a mostly warm reception from lawmakers on Capital Hill.
