The Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame announced it's 2002 class of inductees Friday.
This year's honorees include country star Joe Diffie, pop and jazz singer Kay Starr, the late jazz guitar pioneer Charlie Christian and country music legend Hank Thompson.
Thompson says his long association with Oklahoma makes his induction even more special. "I lived here in the Tulsa area for about 18 years, and it goes without saying, the importance of this to me, to be put into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame."
Hank Thompson also got to see the unveiling of a portrait of him Friday, which will be housed in the Hall of Fame that will eventually be built in Muskogee.
This year's induction ceremony and concert will be held October 8th at the Muskogee Civic Center.
