Homeless veterans in the Tulsa area got a helping hand Thursday. Vietnam Veterans of American and several other local organizations have teamed up to host "Stand Down Four.â€
It’s a two-day event offering medical services, legal counseling, job counseling, clothing and hot meals to homeless veterans and their families. Lew Broughton with Vietnam Veterans of American Post 524, "Just trying to help these veterans and their families get a hand up, not a handout. We're not going to leave another veteran or another brother behind."
‘Stand Down Four’ runs all day Friday and until noon on Saturday. It's being held at the 23 North Detroit.
