It's national hunger awareness day, and several local businesses are working to fight hunger in America.
Tyson Foods donated 35,000 pounds of chicken and 3,000 pounds of other food to the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma Wednesday. An official with Albertsons says they also donated 40,000 pounds of groceries. "Focusing on hunger awareness and relief is one of the many ways we give back to the communities."
The Tulsa Zoo will also help fight hunger through its "Zoo, Two Cans and You" food drive. Bring a canned food item and get a dollar off zoo admission.
