The grounds at Tulsa's Philbrook museum are getting a multi-million dollar face-lift.
Museum supporters broke ground on a $22-million garden renovation project Tuesday night. The plans include a new garden along the south lawn leading to the summer house. They're also improving the current irrigation system and adding handicap access.
Museum backers have set aside seven million dollars to maintain the work once it's finished. Sandra Norman, grounds committee chairman, "We will have the money to maintain it so that it is definitely worth coming to see."
Philbrook's grounds will be closed to the public for the next 16 to 22 months.
