TULSA, Okla. (AP) _ Sean McNally hit a three-run homer and Tulsa pitchers stopped a late rally by Shreveport as the Drillers beat the Swamp Dragons 18-8 Thursday in a Texas League game.
Tulsa took a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning, highlighted by Chris Haas' two-run double to center field.
Shreveport came within 4-3 in the second inning on RBIs from Ramon Moreta and Carlos Mendoza, but would get no closer.
The Drillers got a three-run homer from Jason Jones to key a six-run fourth inning that put the game away.
Haas, Jason Moore and Sean McNally each had RBIs in a four-run seventh inning.
Shreveport rallied in the eighth on RBIs by Moreta, Mendoza and Trey Lunsford. But the rally fell short after Moreta hit a two-out RBI single and pitchers struck out Nelson Castro.
Nick Regilio (3-4) allowed seven hits and three runs in seven innings to take the win for the Drillers.
Ryan Cox (1-3) suffered the loss, allowing nine hits and five runs in 1 2/3 innings.
